Welcome to the Carter’s Crew: Spotlight. In this section we'll spotlight a cast member and get to know a little more about them. Today, we’re talking with Bryson Funk who plays the role of Jay CS: So how are you doing today Bryson? BF: Fantabulous CS: (LOL) Wow, that’s a new one! Well Bryson, the audience has read a little about your character in the Crew: character run down section. Is there something else you can let us know about your character? BF: Jay is an extremely confident guy, not in a cocky way or anything, he’s just very on top of things and mature for his age. He knows what to do to get the job done. BF: Differences: I am definitely louder and more of a jokester than he is. I’m also not that organized and I think Jay really is. I can see him saying “there’s a place for everything and everything should be in its place. “ Similarities: Our views on the Lord and our positive relationship with our parents are definitely the same. He has a heart for people and that’s something that is important to me as well. CS: So will Jay be making an appearance in Jolee’s life again? BF: Well, you’ll have to watch to find out! LOL BF: I am really excited to be part of the Crew. Just to know that we can make a difference through what we do is awesome. CS: How did you enjoy the audition process? BF: Well, I knew a good deal of the people at the auditions from AMTC, which made it CS: Being in a production like this means long hours and a great deal of work. Does that bother you at all? BF: I couldn’t ask for a better job! I love this kind of work; it’s what I’m made for! It doesn’t matter to me about the long hours - it makes me really happy to be doing something that I love. Let’s get to know you a bit more, let’s do a little one on one. CS: What’s your favorite color? Red CS: What’s your favorite food? Macedonia nut crusted mahi – mahi (I get at central market) CS: What’s your favorite sport? Hockey CS: Favorite Band: Red, Flyleaf and Paramore CS: How has a relationship with the Lord helped your life? BF: The great thing about walking with the Lord is having access to his peace – a real and lasting peace that the world can’t give. It’s something that you don’t realize how important it is until it’s gone. So, whenever I get all stressed out , I remind myself that God and his peace are with me. God is always there! He’s the perfect father and he will never give up on you!

CS: What are some of the similarities and differences you have between you and your character?
I’m also more of an emotional person; I don’t mind sharing my feelings. Jay is much more controlled in that area. I think because of what he does, he feels he really doesn’t have the luxury of showing his feelings all the time. However, when he’s hanging with Charlotte or when he was able to spend time with Jolee (before she moved away) he could let his guard down and that was a big relief for him.

easier but the original cast members that I read with were really nice and put me at ease and I appreciated that.
