Spotlight: Ashley

Welcome to the Carter’s Crew: Spotlight. We’re going to take a few minutes and get to know some of our cast members.   So let’s get started.

CS:  How's it going Ashley?

AS:  I’m doing so great, excited to be here.

CS: The audience has read a little about your character Elizabeth in the Crew: Character run down section.  Is there something else about the character we may not know?

AS:
She has a lot of layers for the audience (and me!) to discover, there’s a lot going on with her! She’s also very artsy and loves to paint - and I can relate to that,. Oh, another thing I enjoy about Elizabeth's character is that she loves Paris and traveling (though she really can't afford to travel at the moment). As for me, I love to travel and had the oppertunity to do a great deal of it.

CS:  (LOL) All right, cool. Tell me about some of the similarities and differences you have between you and your character.  Why do you think you connect to the role of Elizabeth?

AS:  Similarities: I have a brother in real life and I like to play the big sister role, so I fully understand Elizabeth’s love and concern for her brother. Another similarity with Elizabeth is -  I would have to be honest and say I probably would fall for a Raze type character – to a point of course.  LOL!  Differences: There are a lot of differences. She’s guarded, I wear my emotions on my sleeve.  I’m more light hearted, fun and spontaneous, where she’s more cautious and not the type to laugh at herself.   She’s searching for strength in different places, and I have discovered that the best place to find strength is in the Lord.

CS:  You are now part of the Crew and you are Elizabeth!!  How do you feel about all of this?

AS:  I feel at home already! It’s awesome.  I knew from the beginning it wasn’t just another audition for just another show.  I felt a real peace throughout the whole process because I knew what the series was about.  I ,of course, at that time didn’t know if I was going to make it or not, but I just felt good even being a part of it – even having the chance to audition.

It’s great knowing when you are in God’s will.  I feel like I’ve learned so much even during this process as we move towards filming.

CS:  Onto another area, being part of the production means long hours, early mornings and a great deal of work.  Does that bother you at all?

AS: Bring it on!  I’m not usually a morning person but when it’s my passion, I can handle it. When it’s something you love it doesn’t matter how hard you work. You get your energy – because again, it’s what you love to do!  Plus, everyone gets there makeup done, which I LOVE, and you can sit back, relax in the makeup chair and let someone take care of you! So it’s not all hard work!

CS:  LOL, that’s true Ashley!   Okay, now let’s get to know you a bit more.

CS
: How has a relationship with the Lord helped your life?

AS: I don’t know where my hope would come from.  God is so much bigger than what we give him credit for, he gives us peace in hard times and in the good times too! He's always with us.  I've learned that walking in his will is so much better than mine could ever be.  That void is filled -  there is definately a difference between temporary happiness and joy. The real joy that comes when we walk with the Lord and in his will.  I'm just so thankful...I don’t know who I would be without the Lord.
