Welcome to the Carter’s Crew: in The Spotlight!
We're chatting with Chase McCaskill, who plays the tough-talkin' K.C.
CS: So how are you doing today Chase?
CM: Doin' well, thanks!
CS: The audience has read a little about your character in the Crew: Character Run CS: What’s your favorite color? Maroon CS: What’s your favorite sport –if you have one. Soccer All right now for a little one on one!.
Down section. Can you tell us something else about your character, K.C., that we may not know?
CM: Well, something you may not know is that K.C.'s parents are divorced and he comes from
a rough background. There's a lot of drama going on between him and his parents, especially his dad!
CS: So let's get your take on your character. What makes you connect with K.C.?
What makes him interesting to play?
CM: One good thing about K.C is that he is very adventurous. He doesn't let people or situations
limit him, you know? He'll just go for it! Something else I think is interesting is, he does have a
deep side to his character, there's more to him than meets the eye, he's just not the shallow bad
guy for no reason. In the series, the audience will definitely get a chance to see that.
K.C. , deep down inside really wrestles with the idea of God and of course he never lets anyone know it. There's a real loneliness to him (in so many ways) and I think that's one reason why he acts so tough and will double cross you in a heartbeat--he doesn't want to get hurt.
CS: WOW! K.C. is definitely going to be a cool character to watch! Okay, lets go to the production side of things. Things are really starting to grow with Carter’s Crew, with our web page and the series is going into production soon. How do you feel about all of that? What do you think about the fact that people are being introduced to you all over the world because of the internet?
CM: I think it’s awesome. Everyone likes to be known for something that they're involved in like a sport or whatever, but I think it’s great to be part of something good, something that has a positive spiritual influence on people's lives. For me it goes way beyond the chance of people knowing my name; we're planting seeds that may help someone down the line and that's awesome all by itself!
CS: Speaking of the episodes—the production for the series means early mornings and long hours does that bother you at all?
CM: No, not really it’s routine for me. I have to get up early for school, and I'm also used to a busy schedule and studying in the mix of everything. But I know it will also take a lot of perseverance... and Red Bull (sports drink). But anytime you get to do something new, especially something that you were hand picked for, it really makes it all exciting. Oh and I'm looking forward to doing all of the on-camera stuff!
.
CS: Let's get more info on you Chase, here we go:
CS: What month is your birthday? October
CS: What’s your favorite food? Chicken fried steak-with gravy and mash potatoes! Yummm
CS: If you could play another character in the series who would that be? Tommy
CS: Before we go Chase, tell us how has your relationship with the Lord affected your life?
CM: It’s helped me in the way I act towards other people and personally stay on track. You view things from the standpoint of what God thinks about what you're doing. For example, I know that people get pressured into trying drugs and it's times like that when you reflect on how much God means to you, how he really loves you and wants you to have a good life... and also that he's watching you. I know that my life and body is a gift from him.
Knowing all of this gives me confidence too, because I know that I'm not alone, even in the rough times. I can go against the crowd and be who God made me to be!
