MELIMAGINE PRODUCTIONS
Spotlight: Mandy

Welcome to the Carter’s Crew:Spotlight. In this section will spotlight a cast member and get to know a little more about them. This week we’re chatting with Mandy Foster who plays Jolee.

CS: How are you doing today Mandy?

MF: I’m doing fine.

CS: The audience has read a little about your character in the Crew: Character Run Down section.  Is there something else you can tell us about your character that we may not know?

MF
: Even though Jolee acts tough, there’s a part of her that can be really shy and vulnerable. That’s why she only shows her tough side, she doesn't want to let anyone in and she definitely doesn't want to get hurt. That’s another reason why K.C. and Jolee get along so well, they feel safe with each other. As far as Jay...she did care for him (and still does)  and I think in a way that scares her a little.  Jay was able to break down her defenses and like I said, she doesn't want to feel vulnerable.

CS:  Tell us, why you connect with your character so well?

MF: Jolee is very different, very out there, she’s like K.C. in the sense that if she has an idea, she won’t back down. I’m like that because I like to put myself out there. I don’t mind standing out and I like to use every opportunity that comes my way.

CS: Things are really starting to grow with Carter’s Crew! Our webpage is going great, we have our growing Facebook page and the series is going into production soon. How do you feel about all of that? What do you think about the fact that people are being introduced to you all over the world because of the internet?

MF:  It’s really, really exciting!  It’s great to see all of the doors beginning to open for us. This is my first real large scale production. So like I said, part of you is like ‘wow this is sooo exciting!’ and the other part is like; "Oh my gosh, is this really happening?” It’s like getting on a huge roller coaster, you’re excited but a little like "wow this is huge!!"  But I know all of this is going to provide such a great experience!

CS: Speaking of the series? Production means early mornings, long hours and a great deal of work. How do you feel about that?

MF: I’m fine with the early morning thing, especially when it has to do with acting!  I love acting!

CS: How has a relationship with the Lord helped your life?

MF: It’s helped me in a lot of different ways.  This past year we’ve had a lot of struggles; knowing that the Lord is there for me has really helped me through those tough times.  That’s what I want people to know, that God is there for you - even in those everyday situations. If you’re struggling in a class or whatever, or having problems at home - pray. Ask the Lord for help.  It may seem like it doesn't do much at the moment, but it does, it really does make a difference – a difference that you can see.
