Spotlight: Carson

Welcome to the Carter’s Crew: Spotlight. We’re going to take a few minutes and get to know some of our cast members.  So let’s get started with Carson Ingle who plays "Carter."

CS
:  So how are you doing today Carson?

CI:    I’m doing great, thanks!

CS: The audience has read a little about your character in the Crew: Character run down section.  Is there something else about Carter they may not know?

CI:  Carter is a balanced kind of guy. Even though he’s mature and is a leader, he still has time for fun and hanging with his Crew.  But he also makes time for God a priority too.  He’s not an extreme, intense kind of guy is what I’m trying to say – he’s just right.

CS:  (LOL) All right, cool. Tell me about some of the similarities and differences you have between you and Carter.  Why do you think you connect to the role?

CI:  The similarities I find between myself and Carter, well, he is a Christian and is dedicated to the Lord and that's something that’s very important to me too.  He’s a role model to those around him but he also knows how to kick back and really have fun!

A difference between us is that I definitely like to have a schedule.  I like to know where I’m going, what has to be done and I like things in order.  Carter is a bit looser when it comes to that, a bit more of a “fly by the seat of his pants” kind of guy. I doubt he walks around with a calendar in his backpack.

CS:  You are now part of the Crew and dude, you are Carter!! Can you believe it! How do you feel about all of this?

CI:  So Blessed!!!!!   I feel excited and ecstatic that a show like Carter’s Crew is going to be out there and on the scene, making a difference.   It’s been a personal goal of mine to be a Christian example in the entertainment industry for other teens and now I’m getting that opportunity.   I’m just so honored to be part of the series!!!

CS:  Well, obviously the role wasn’t just handed to you; there was an extended audition process. Tell us what that was like. Did you enjoy it?

CI:  It actually was really fun.  I’ve been to other auditions where it’s kind of cold; you just go in and read and that’s it.  The Crew auditions were the total opposite, I felt welcome and you could just tell the Lord was part of this.  The people that I read with like Bethany, Chase and Kaylee were really cool and they made you feel at ease.  So, after the first audition I was really pumped and couldn’t wait till the next one.  It was great to get a little taste of what being part of the Crew was going to be like.

CS:  Onto another area, being part of the production means long hours, early mornings and a great deal of work ?  Does that bother you at all?

CI:  Not all,  I’m just so excited to be part of the Crew and getting up early for the thing I love to do is easy.  Whenever I do this type of work  - acting, I really don’t think about how early it is or how long the days are. I have such a blast that it doesn’t hit me until I get home! LOL.  Having an event for Carter’s Crew is the perfect alarm clock!

CS: How has a relationship with the Lord helped your life?

CI:  There was a time when I thought being Christian was just a label, you know, something just to get you into heaven.  Then things started to really change for me and I discovered it was much deeper than that.   I discovered it was a lifestyle; that it’s a relationship with a living God.  He’ moves your heart to do things for him, to help others and lead them to Christ.  He’s created this deep fire in my heart that’s continued to grow.  I can’t just sit back anymore and just watch people go by and not tell them about the hope they can have in the Lord.
