CASSANDRA
The daughter of a wealthy Wall Street tycoon, Cassandra lives in a world all her own, a world where life is served on a silver platter–just for her. School life isn’t much different. Popular and leader of the fashion "posse" (the best-dressed kids in school) she decides who’s in and who’s out and "have mercy" on any one who crosses her the wrong way.
Cassandra is one of the major “thorns in the flesh” of the Carter’s Crew. Despite her best efforts, however, circumstances have continually landed her in the company of the Crew whose ideals are a world away from her own. But is it just chance?
Though she would never tell, Cassandra is searching for meaning outside of the family name -- outside of the world of shallow people she knows; Cassandra is searching for more…but does the darkness know this too? Will Cassandra be caught between the darkness and the light? Which side will she choose?
BEHIND THE SCENES:
NAME: BETHANY BLAIR
The question has been asked many times if Bethany is anything like her character. The answer is
a huge NO! They are most definitely opposites. Where Cassandra is self absorbed, rude and has
a rough relationship with her family, Bethany is extremely close to her family, is very sweet and
giving to others. She enjoys volleyball, shopping, of course, and staying involved with school activities.
PRODUCER NOTES:
Bethany, along with Chase and Mandy originally read when the concept was in the works as an audio
series for a younger audience. As the format changed and the show developed to what it is today, we
knew we still had the right one for the role of Cassandra.
Bethany is quite convincing as the snobby rich girl (smile) though, as you've just read, she's quite the opposite! She is able to show the hardness of Cassandra as well as her vulnerability
and we think that really enhances her character!
